blogging confessions

Dear Andrew,
I know you don't know how to read yet, but I need to get something off my chest without saying it directly to your face, so here it goes. sigh...
You know how I keep telling you that your SPD costume is in the washing machine because it's really, really dirty? Well, I don't know exactly how to say this but... it's not in the washing machine bud. In fact, it hasn't been in the washing machine since last Monday.
You see... your beloved SPD costume has been through some tough times, and it was on it's last legs of survival. As hard as it is for me to say this, your costume needed to be put out of it's misery.
It's been laid to rest at the city dump were it truly belongs. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you until today. I had to wait until after the trash was picked up because I knew you would give me your "pitty me" look and I would go dig it out of the trash can for the third time.
Bud? Are you OK? Do you understand what I'm saying? It's gone, long gong. Adios SPD ranger!
Hopefully someday you can forgive me, and look back on all the great times you shared together. In the meantime, I will go on telling you it's in the washing machine and you'll keep believing me until I have the heart to tell you the truth.
Remember, it's better this way. I love you bud.
Sincerely,
Mommy oxox

You are so mean! That thing was a whole dollar. Seriously, where can I get him one.

Shoot, we have stuff "in the washing machine" alot! Sometimes it comes back from being "washed"...

That is so funny. Anabelle has a nightgown that mysteriously got lost and she agreed that we are both very sad about it. I am just glad the ugly thing is gone!

That never worked with Caroline's blanket. She always went straight to the washer to pull out. And I would get busted. Now, twelve years later, she asks why I didn't take it away when she was little so she wouldn't be so attached to it now. A mother can never win. Sigh.

@ Lori- I love Caroline's bag full of her blanket.

Been there. Done that. Being a mom is tough business.

this is hysterical!! i have lily's green dress stashed under my bed right now because i don't want her to find it and wear it. i need to sneak it out to the garbage one of these days. at least she isn't asking for it if she doesn't see it.
