Baptism

Emme was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on March 21, 2009. She had a program in her honor that included a talk about baptism given by her Grammy Elaine, a musical number by Emme and her cousins (see picture below), and a talk on the Holy Ghost given by her Grandma Gerri. She was baptized and confirmed by her Papa, CF.
To keep with the Sirmans family tradition, she wore the beautiful dress that Elaine originally made for Lori 30 years ago (sorry Lori) that all of the Sirmans sisters, their daughters, and two of Elaine's nieces have been baptized in since. Lori has embroidered each name and year the girls were baptized on the bottom of the dress. Emme felt special to be apart of such a special tradition. She also wore the bracelet that my grandmother, Natalie gave to her on the day of her blessing 8 years ago.
We were so grateful that so many family members came near and far to share this special occasion with us. It truly was a wonderful day.
Top: Kelly, Laurel, Kylie. Bottom: Andrew, Emme, Ellie, Caroline, Jack, and Tycen. They sang When I Am Baptized durning the program and did a fantastic job. They were all so darn cute!

That is so cute and awesome! The kind of thing that makes my heart smile.

I love the dress and all of it's history! What a wonderful idea to embroider the names and dates around the bottom!
