Once it gave me the heebeegees

I've recently overcame my life long fear of thunder. And when I say "recently" I mean a few months ago. Holla! Picture me, hiding underneath the covers of my bed, in fetal position, yelling out "me no likey!!!" and that's how it would be when I was all by my lonesome durning a thunderstorm. And if the power when out during my... how you say, freak out? Holy. Moly. I can't make this stuff up. This is serious business.
Anyway, so I overcame my fear of the thunder, (yeehaw) and it couldn't have come at a better time. Apparently, the dirty south likes it's thunderstorms and it likes 'em real good. But no worries now. No indeedy. Now I can tell my children that there's no need to fear with confidence. I can listen to Boys Like Girls "Thunder" song (not to be mistaken for the one that reminds me of Bella and Edward. coocoo) without cringing and no one should have to cringe while listening to that particular song. And best of all, I can sit (not hide) in my bed, facing the window, and watch the lightning light up my yard followed by the rumble from the thunder that shakes my bed and enjoy it's eerie-like beauty.

"So bring on the rain.
And listen to the thunder."

Mmmm...I love the rain and thunder. In fact, if my hair didn't give me such fits in the southern humidity, I'd move there simply for the thunderstorms. And sleep on the screened porch at Karen's house.

ps- Love that song too but I had no idea it actually made you cringe to listen to it. Gurl you are one completely fantastic mess. Ha.

It's about time!! Whatsup you turning in to your mama? Pretty soon I'll have reading Stephen King and watching scary movies.

@ Mama: Girl, you crazy. I will never read a Stephen King novel. The movies are bad enough. Do you remember making me watch IT on ABC for 4 Sundays in a row when I was a wee babe? I do.
